Here’s the final shot from last weekends Landscape Photography workshop near Lorne along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. It’s my favourite image with the falls as the major focal point of the scene.
I feel the 1/10 second shutter speed has provided the right mix of substance and flow for the falling water. I love the contrast between the fluidity of the water compared to the solidity of the stone. The gradation of tones together with the heavily textured rock face and surrounding ferns make this image well suited to rendering in black and white.
Adobe Lightroom 2 and Adobe Photoshop CS3 were employed to process the original RAW file.
