A few days ago I ran one of my one-on-one photography sessions. This time around the session was based upon a fashion shoot and involved a model, hair stylist, makeup artist, clothing and several locations. As in the world of a professional photographer all of these things had to be considered and organized. I was there, primarily, to provide technical support and, where appropriate, a range of tips and suggestions. The results were excellent and all members of the team had a most enjoyable day.

At our final location I was invited to join in and make a few images for myself. That’s one question that only needs to be asked once. So, for the last few minutes our dear model, Vivien, patiently accommodated me.

Lighting used during the shoot varied throughout the day. Our first location provided us with huge windows that, on an overcast morning, produced lovely soft lighting. The second location required a mixture of flash and tungsten (incandescent) light, the third a mixture of bright daylight and flash and the final location (where the above images were made) provided wonderful open shade.

Finally, I was very happy to make a photograph of both Vivien and her boyfriend Nelson who, along with Hansel, provided excellent assistance throughout the day.

Thanks to all involved for their hard work, positive energy and teamwork. It made all the difference.
