Who Said Wedding Photography Isn’t Fun

Here’s the first of a series of shots I made recently at a wedding in Mildura. I’II be posting more shots from the wedding, and the next day’s riverboat cruise, over coming days.

Situated in far northwest Victoria, Mildura is the capital of the Sunraysia region famous for citrus fruits, grapes and wine. Historically an important port on the famous Murray River the town, river and surrounding area offers a wealth of opportunities for exploration. The Grand Hotel, where the above image was made, was also the venue for the beautifully coriorgraphed wedding reception.

As it involved family the wedding was very much a labor of love for me. This image features our beautiful bride, Michelle, and my nephew, Richard, hamming it up for the camera. They’re great people and, despite the time pressures of the day, we had a lot of fun working together.

I processed the original color file in Adobe Lightroom 2, where it was rendered into black-and-white. A few final local adjustments to tonality and sharpness were made in Adobe Photoshop CS4.
