Here’s the first of a series of images I plan to post over coming days made last weekend during a photography workshop I was running in Central Victoria. The location is Chewton Lake, situated about half way along Golden Point Road and around 2 km out of the small township of Chewton.

The group and I arrived at the lake a little before sunset. We positioned ourselves on a bank just above the lake with a view down onto the water and across to a forested hillside. As the sun sank towards the hillside it’s warm light illuminated some overhead clouds and reflected back down onto the water.

In addition to the rich colors throughout the scene I was particularly drawn to a group of ducks that would occasions swim through the frame creating circular patterns on the surface of the water.

Adobe Lightroom 2 and Adobe Photoshop CS3 were employed to process the image.
