Hopetoun Falls in the Great Otway National Park is a peaceful spot that provides lots of opportunities for the keen photographer. Situated just 5 km from Beech Forest and around 26 km (20 minutes) drive east from Lavers Hill, a rest spot along the Great Ocean Road, the falls can be seen from a viewing platform, close to the car park, or after a 30 minute walk to the base of the falls.

This particular image was actually made from the car park. The beautiful Myrtle Beech and Californian Redwoods dominate the scene and I remember well the sweet, fresh air, beauty and quiet power that seemed to exist within that stand of trees. I found it a very straightforward exercise to organise the individual elements within the frame into a relatively cohesive design.

  1. I really like the strong sense of design in this photo. You are also giving me some great ideas for shoot locations on my next trip down the great Ocean Road.

Thanks Glenn, for your generosity of sharing.

    Cheers

  2. My pleasure Sue,

Might even see you down there or maybe even on one of my workshops.

    All the best,

    Glenn
