Here’s another image from last Saturday’s Landscape Photography workshop in and around Lorne on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road. This image features the Split Point lighthouse at Aireys Inlet. I made the shot with my Canon 5D Mark II camera with a 30 second exposure at ISO 1600. I normally wouldn’t combine high ISO and long exposure, but I wanted to use the opportunity to begin testing the camera’s capabilities in that regard. I’II write more about this once I’ve completed more exacting comparison tests.

The original RAW color image has been processed in Adobe Lightroom prior to it being rendered into black-and-white, with a subtle warm/cool split tone, in Adobe Photoshop CS3. I like the way the lighthouse stands out against the dark night sky. The wispy clouds are a result of them moving through the frame during the relatively long exposure.
