The image was made at Barwon Heads on the Bellarine Peninsular in Victoria, Australia. With the aid of gentle dusk light and a narrow aperture of f22, to achieve maximum Depth of Field (DOF), the required exposure was 8 minutes. While my tripod ensured that the pier and distant headland remaining sharp, the long exposure provided the water’s surface with a smooth, buttery blue appearance.

I employed a Hasselblad X-PAN II camera and Hasselblad X-PAN 30mm f5.6 lens with Fuji Velvia 100 film. Processing was conducted in Adobe Photoshop CS3.
